This dashboard shows how rainwater from the roof of the Downs Leisure Centre is being captured and diverted into rainplanters and a rain garden, rather than flowing into the sewer. By tracking the amount of water collected over time, we can demonstrate the real-world benefits of nature-based drainage — helping to reduce pressure on local sewers, cut flood risk, and support biodiversity. The live data provides evidence of how well these systems work and highlights their potential value for other public buildings and community spaces. One sensor is active so far, with two more being added soon to complete the monitoring network.
